Medications

Typical pain medications used to treat pain include paracetamol, NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, codeine and other simple analgesia. Other drugs such as nerve pain medications, muscle relaxants and anti-depressants may also be used to treat pain. Each type of medication has strengths, limitations and risks. The patient’s particular problem and overall health will determine which pain reliever, if any, is indicated.  Please click on the medications below for more information.
